St Vincent de Paul (1581–1660), the apostle of charity, founded the Congregation of the Mission and, with St Louise de Marillac, the Daughters of Charity.
His relics rest in a silver reliquary above the altar of the chapel of the Congregation’s mother house at 95 rue de Sèvres in Paris, a short walk from the Rue du Bac.
