Between 1673 and 1675 Our Lord revealed His Sacred Heart to St Margaret Mary Alacoque, a Visitation nun at Paray-le-Monial, asking for reparation, the Holy Hour and the Communion of the First Fridays.
Pilgrims pray in the Chapel of the Apparitions and in the Romanesque Basilica of the Sacred Heart, and venerate the relics of St Margaret Mary and of her Jesuit confessor, St Claude La Colombière.
